Multimedia table
In our continuing relationship with AB ROGERS DESIGN and the Tate Modern, we undertook the engineering and manufacture of a new display table in the famous London gallery.
The table, which was designed by AB ROGERS DESIGN, consists of 4 large table sections. Each section holds a computer system which is controlled by an integrated tracker ball system. A conventional computer mouse may have been at risk of being stolen. The much harder wearing tracker ball is mounted from underneath, causing theft of the device to be virtually impossible. The tracker ball and arcade style button should also last for a long time into the future.
Each section also contains a set of speakers, providing each set of users a unique sound experience separate to that of the other users of the table. Our long history of using Glass Reinforced Plastic and other composite materials for furniture shows in this latest installation. The seating systems were designed to be integrated with leather cushions, providing a stylish seamless look. Our GRP surface provided a great platform for the display, strong enough to display all items required.
As can be seen from the pictures, the design and the use of GRP caused a striking visual display. As with all of our GRP furniture this standard will stay bright and rigid long into the future.
